This product has been discontinued.

We stopped selling our Cod Liver Oil 1000mg after the supplier changed the capsule formulation.

The previous capsule shell was replaced with bovine gelatine. Following that change, we could no longer verify the finished product to the halal standard we require for products sold by Khan Nutrition.

Rather than continue selling a product where we were not satisfied with that assurance, we discontinued it.

Why did we discontinue it?

Our halal standard applies to the finished product, not just the main active ingredient.

That means looking at the complete formulation, including ingredients such as capsule shells, flavourings, colours and processing aids, and seeking clarification from suppliers where necessary.

When the formulation of this cod liver oil changed, we were no longer able to verify the finished product to the standard we require.

So we stopped stocking it.

Why keep this page?

Some customers may still have an older bottle, may have bought the product from us previously, or may arrive here through an old link or search result.

Keeping this page available lets us explain clearly why the product disappeared rather than quietly removing it without context.

Looking for an omega supplement?

Our current omega product is:

Omega 3-6-9 Oils

It combines fish oil, flaxseed oil and sunflower oil and is halal-certified.

It is important to be clear that Omega 3-6-9 is a different formulation, not a like-for-like replacement for cod liver oil.

The two products contain different ingredients and should not be treated as interchangeable simply because both include omega fatty acids.

Our standard has not changed

Products can change after launch.

A supplier may alter an ingredient, capsule shell or manufacturing specification, and when that happens we reassess the product.

If we cannot get the assurance we need around halal suitability, safety or formulation, we would rather stop selling the product than lower the standard.
